Why we process your data

We process information in relation to the functions necessary to enable us to provide you with a service in accordance with our contract with you.

We may ask you for information including your name, business address, contact telephone numbers and email addresses. We may also ask you for other information that relates to the products and services we provide.

We may use your information to enable us to develop new products, services, features, and functionality.

We may use your information for marketing and promotional services, where we have additional products or services to offer.

Legal basis for processing personal data

Article 6(1)(b) – processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which

the data subject is party or in order to take steps at the request of the data subject

prior to entering into a contract.

Who we share your data with

We may share your information with 3rd parties, such as software or equipment vendors, where this is necessary for them to provide support services to you or to Infotechdirect.

We may provide information, in response to properly made requests, for the purposes of the prevention and detection of crime, and the apprehension or prosecution of offenders, and where authorities or governing bodies require access for investigations. We may also provide information for the purpose of safeguarding national security. In either case we do so in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. We also provide information when required to do so by law, for example under a court order, or in response to properly made demands, under powers contained in legislation.

We do not share your personal information with other companies for marketing purposes in order for them to contact you with details of other products or services you may be interested in.

How long we retain your data

Unless there is a specific legal requirement, we will only retain your data for the duration of the contract to provide you with services.

Right of access

You have the right to obtain a copy of personal data that we hold about you and other

information specified in the GDPR, although there are exceptions to what we are

obliged to disclose.

Right to rectification

You have the right to ask us to rectify any inaccurate data that we hold about you.

Right to erasure

You have the right to request that we erase personal data about you that we hold.

This is not an absolute right, and depending on the legal basis that applies, we may

have overriding legitimate grounds to continue to process the data.

Right to restriction of processing

You have the right to request that we restrict processing of personal data about you

that we hold. You can ask us to do this for example where you contest the accuracy

of the data.

Right to data portability

You have the right to receive any personal data that you have provided to us in electronic format and to transfer it to another data controller.

Right to object

You have the right to object to processing of personal data about you on grounds

relating to your particular situation. The right is not absolute, and we may continue to

use the data if we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds.

We take any complaints about our collection and use of personal information very seriously.
